About Sydney Grimm, LCSW

Sydney began her work in mental health care as a crisis counselor in St. Louis during her MSW education. During this time, she collaborated with various mental health care teams to create treatment plans, resource and intervention lists that supported social, racial, and environmental justice, and provided resources and counseling to individuals experiencing mental health crises. This experience helped Sydney develop a trauma-informed, client-centered approach to mental health care, as well as shaped her knowledge and awareness of acute mental health care.

Following her experience as a crisis counselor, Sydney moved on to work with children, youth, and families as a community-based mental health therapist in the city of East St. Louis. In this role, Sydney has assisted in providing mental health services and advocacy for families both within and outside of the agency. Using evidence-based practices and a variety of therapeutic approaches, Sydney provided individual therapy to children, youth, young adults, and their families in a community setting.

Sydney values her experience working with other professionals as a part of a care team, and collaborating with external agencies and families to coordinate appropriate services that support the client’s mental health and overall stability.
