About Rita Rogers, LSW

Rita began her work with children, adolescents, and families as a Court Appointed Special Advocate Coordinator for abused and neglected children in St. Clair County. Within that role, she attended weekly court hearings, case-matched volunteers to children in need, supervised volunteers, mediated risk, problem-solved, and personally checked on the safety and well-being of these children.

During this time her clinical skills, passion, and dedication to the overall well-being of the child and adolescent population grew as she experienced the need for positive change within this population. These needs include facilitating their ability to express feelings, needs, and desires. Rita utilizes a holistic approach to assessing and treating each client’s needs to reach healthy client goals. She highlights and prioritizes the importance of a collaborative therapeutic partnership for self-determination, forming human relationships, and best desired outcomes to treatment.

Education

Rita is a Licensed Social Worker in the state of Illinois. She received her bachelor’s degree in Social Work at Grambling State University in Louisiana. During this time, she was an active part of the Student Government Association and presented her research in several different states. Most of her undergraduate research was focused on juvenile delinquency, as well as child and adolescent social and academic challenges. Rita received her master’s degree in Social Work, as an advanced level student with a clinical focus from Indiana Wesleyan University.
