Izzy began her career working with individuals who were diagnosed with developmental delays, where she learned the importance of communication, using both verbal and non-verbal cues. Izzy continued her work with individuals, assessing and supporting college-aged students through a local university, where she was able to build onto her communication skills, while also evaluating and supporting the mental health needs of her clients.
Following her education, Izzy moved on to work in outpatient community mental health, where she provided mental health therapy to individuals and families. Through her time in community mental health, Izzy learned the importance of a team approach, as well as finding multiple solutions for those in need. She worked with families, couples, and individuals, which has helped her further understand the impact others can have on an individual’s mental health. Working in the community mental health setting also strengthened her skills to provide stabilization for individuals in crisis.
