Amia became a therapist because she knew what it was like feel alone with problems, and how painful it is to not have the support, guidance or resources needed to navigate those challenges. Through her own personal experiences, she became passionate about supporting adolescents and young adults through their most challenging times. Amia’s approach to therapy is deeply rooted in mindfulness and holistic practices, focusing on healing individuals as whole beings—mind, body, and spirit.
Amia identifies as part of the minority population and LGBTQIA+ community. She is deeply passionate about helping her clients find courage and strength to express themselves authentically. Throughout her college and graduate studies, Amia discovered her passion for helping people navigate traumatic experiences, depression, anxiety, and the often-overwhelming transitions of life. This passion led her to become certified as a Reiki Master, enabling her to assist clients in clearing energy blockages and overcoming negativity that can impede their progress and fulfillment in various aspects of life.
During her graduate internship, Amia facilitated an expressive art and somatic workshop designed for children and adolescents. This project aimed to help young people explore their emotions creatively, regulate their nervous systems, and improve communication with themselves and their families—all while having fun. The success of this workshop has fueled her ongoing education in somatic work, emphasizing the importance of listening to our bodies when they signal the need for attention.
Amia’s goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore every aspect of themselves, stretching beyond societal and peer-imposed boundaries to achieve personal growth and self-acceptance by connecting the mind with the spirit and body so we can get back to the root of who we are.
